Making Sweet, Sweet Love To My Television, or My Plans For The Weekend

Thanks to those of you who emailed to tell me that this is on VH1 Friday night:

40 Most Soft-sational Soft Rock Songs
They’re the titans of tenderness… the sultans of sensitivity… the monsters of mellow, and we’re counting down 40 of their greatest songs. So dim that lava lamp, pour a chalice of white zin, and cuddle up…

And wouldn’t you know, at the same time, the Sox will be playing the Yankees on NESN.

I’m faced with a dilemma of epic proportions. Lionel or Youk? Dear God, it’s like Sophie’s Choice. If Sophie could watch one live and DVR the other, that is.

That’s called having your cake and eating Peter Cetera too. Or, uh, something like that.

The Yankees will play the Sox about three hundred more times this year, VH1 will only be showing that soft rock marathon a few dozen times this month, the decision is a tough one.

    Ew.

Looks like it’s time to invest in a second TV.

VH1 is going to show that a few dozen times this month and about 1 billion times this year. You can watch the Yankeess kick the Sox butt – go for the game. (HEE)

White zin – ha! Also, is it just me or is there a reek of poo coming from libragirl’s general direction?

I finally saw Sophie’s Choice a couple months ago, so I actually get that reference now. (When I first heard it on an old “Friends” episode, I didn’t.)

Also, my second-favorite local radio station recently changed from an alternative format to all love songs all the time. At first, I was incredulous and annoyed, but you know what? I secretly love that damn station now. You would, too.

That’s a no-brainer…watch the Sox game. You can watch the VH1 show later…do you really want to hear the recap of how the Sox kicked ass against the Yankees and have no idea what really happened?

How about the split screen…the two in one or whatever it’s called? Cause then you could watch the Sox game with the volume down, and have a small screen of VH1 with the volume up. Problem solved!

Ok, this is what will happen: we will watch the game while DVRing (I love modern verbs) the VH1 show and then watch it after the game without commercials!

BigStar has a TV that would solve this problem, split screen in the corners. One is on the top right and the other is on the bottom left. Problem solved. (She has no idea the TV does this, which is why she didn’t suggest it.)

Hope you picked the game. VH1 plays those countdown shows over and over and over again throughout each and every day, so you’ll definitely catch it again later. That’s not to say I don’t love those shows.

In fact, I made my own list: Top 100 Reasons I Don’t Fit Into My Clothes Anymore. And here’s a sneak peak– #83: vending machine donuts; #59: sleeping in feels better than sit-ups; #24: VH1 “I love the 80’s” marathon…
